Frances Morris (KC 1978)
Tate Modern, South Bank

The first woman to head Tate Modern, Frances Morris has been instrumental in leading greater representation of female artists at the museum, including staging major retrospectives of Louise Bourgeois, Yayoi Kusama and Agnes Martin. Graduating from King’s in History of Art, she joined the Tate as a junior curator in 1987 and was appointed Director in 2016. She stepped down in early 2023.
