The Philosopher Queens

with Rebecca Buxton and Lisa Whiting

Rebecca Buxton and Lisa Whiting offered an accessible introduction to the history of philosophy told through the lens of the women who have shaped the discipline, from the ancient Greek thinker Hypatia to Angela Davis, perhaps the most iconic symbol of the American Black Power Movement. Based on their recent book The Philosopher Queens, Rebecca and Lisa will tell the stories of a number of prominent women whose ideas have had a profound – but for the most part uncredited – impact on the world.
