Three King’s poets joined us to perform their work

About the poets:

Kate Newmann (KC 1985) has published five collections of poetry including her latest work Ask Me Next Saturday (2018). Kate’s awards include the William Allingham Poetry Award, The Swansea Award, The Listowel Festival Single Poem Award, the Roundyhouse Poetry Prize, and the James Prize. She is an Irish Arts Council Bursary 2007 recipient and was commended in the 2008 National Poetry Competition.

Kate Miller (KC 1973) was the recipient of the Edwin Morgan International Poetry Prize in 2008. Her book The Observances (2015) was shortlisted for the Costa and Michael Murphy Prizes and won the Seamus Heaney Centre Prize for First Collection. Kate’s second collection, The Long Beds, was published in 2020 .

Born in Colombia, Isabel Bermudez (KC 1989) has published five books of poetry including Serenade (Paekakariki Press, 2020), Madonna Moon (Coast to Coast to Coast, 2019), and Small Disturbances (Rockingham Press, 2016). She has worked as a documentary film-maker and a schoolteacher.
